Quaid gets Real
by: Mar 13, 2007 Print

Randy Quaid has joined the cast of Real Time, a comic drama from director Randall Cole now shooting in Hamilton, ON for Serendipity Point Films.

The picture is Cole's follow-up to 2002's 19 Months, and stars Quaid (Brokeback Mountain) as a hit man who gives an old acquaintance and compulsive gambler, played by Ottawa's Jay Baruchel (Million Dollar Baby, Knocked Up), one hour to live.

"I'm excited to be shooting my second feature with two tremendous lead actors," said Cole, who also penned the script, in a release. He is working under producers Julia Rosenberg (Lie with Me), Paula Devonshire (Diary of the Dead) and Ari Lantos.

The producers say they're "thrilled" to be working Cole, offering that, "Indie movies don't get better than this." Filming wraps March 29. Maple Pictures will handle sales in Canada, while Serendipity distributes worldwide.
