Dennis Hoffman has been named SVP and GM of CIS Vancouver, moving up from head of production and taking charge of all day-to-day operations of the Vancouver effects shop.
Hoffman has 20 years production experience, from his start at Image G., to stops at Digital Domain, Dream Quest Images and VP/head of production at Cinesite.
"Working with Don, along with Roma O'Connor who heads our London facility, allows us to take advantage of the global marketplace our business has truly become," said Hoffman in a statement, referring to Don Fly, president of parent CIS Visual Effects Group.
CIS Vancouver has recently worked on Vantage Point, Blades of Glory, The Da Vinci Code and I, Robot, among others.
Meanwhile, Marianne O'Reilly, currently president of CIS Vancouver, is headed to the East Coast, where she will consult on new business opportunities for the company.
She began her career at CIS Vancouver predecessor Rainmaker in 1999 as a visual effects producer and was named the company's executive producer in 2004. O'Reilly had a hand in CIS Visual Effects Group's acquisition of Rainmaker this past January.
O'Reilly "has been an invaluable partner in moving our three-facility group forward," said Fly in a statement.
