Michelle Thrush has joined the cast of Mixed Blessings, now shooting its second season in Alberta under new director Francis Damberger.
Thrush, represented by Murray Gibson of the Characters agency and seen previously on North of 60 and Moccasin Flats, joins returning cast members Gary Basaraba and Tina Lameman. She plays Kate, sister to Lameman's character Josie.
Series creator Ric Beairsto of Laughing Mountain Communications is stepping back from the director's chair for the new 6 x 30 season, handing the helm to Damberger, who recently coproduced Paul Gross' Passchendaele. Jonathan Benny returns as DOP.
The comedy/drama is shooting in Edmonton and Fort McMurray. It airs on APTN and follows the chaotic life of a blended family in an oil boomtown in northern Alberta
