E! loses Do Not Disturb
by: Sep 29, 2008 Print

The fall season has seen its first casualty, following cancellation of Do Not Disturb by CBS. The sitcom, which stars Jerry O'Connell as the manager of an upscale New York hotel, has been pulled by the U.S. network following three episodes that met with acidic reviews.

The show ran on E! in Canada, out of simulcast in the Monday 9 p.m. slot, opposite perennial chart-topper Two and Half Men on A and the front end of Global's Heroes. It aired Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. in the U.S.

E! filled the gap Monday night with 'Til Death. A spokesperson for Canwest says there is not yet a long-term replacement plan.

Canwest's Global had better luck with its fall schedule last week when 90210, one of its biggest arrivals this season, got a full-season order from The CW, taking the re-do of the teen drama to a full 22 episodes. The series has been on a ratings roller coaster since its arrival, debuting at over one million early this month before dropping into the 600s and then rebounding slightly to the high 700s, thanks to the season premiere of its lead-in House.
