LOS ANGELES -- Longtime Spike Jonze collaborator Lance Acord (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation) talks about his DOP duties on Where the Wild Things Are at the recent HD Expo.
"Spike has a very distinct way of seeing things," says Acord, asked about Jonze's decision to adapt the 10-sentence children's book into a feature, without the presumed green screen and CG effects.
"He knows what he likes in terms of filmmaking. I felt like, for him, part of the approach to doing this film was being able to work with actors -- in the way he's always worked with actors. He really engages with his actors."
