* David Cronenberg is on board as executive producer for the adaptation of his 1988 thriller Dead Ringers into a series for HBO, and is attached to direct a pilot written by Wesley Strick (Cape Fear).

* The two-hour pilot of The Dresden Files - about a wizard/private eye in Chicago, for the Sci Fi Channel - wraps this month after four weeks in Toronto.

* Temple Street Productions and May Street Productions are copro-ing a Canadian version of America's Next Top Model for CHUM. Casting is underway in Toronto.

* YTV has ordered a second season (26 x 30) of Captain Flamingo from Breakthrough Animation and its partners Heroic Film Company, Atomic Cartoons and PASI Animation.

* The 30-minute CBC one-off comedy One Hit Wonder, about a fading rock star, written and directed by Chaz Thorne (Poor Boy's Game), wrapped in mid-November after a weeklong shoot in Halifax. The Christmas-set show will likely air in 2006.
