The following is a list of selected Canadian academic institutions and training programs offering programs relating to film, television and new media.
Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television
National Apprenticeship Training Program
Located: national placements
Founded: 1984
Program: NATP is designed to provide hands-on apprenticeship experience within a professional environment for students who have completed post-secondary film, television, communications or related studies. Its purpose is to expose talented students to the labor market through paid training on professional productions
Students apprentice on a 12-week training program, which may include a number of different productions in their area of interest, and receive an honorarium of $375 per week for each week of training. Training may be undertaken between May 2008 and March 2009. Application entry deadline: March 2008
Number of students: eight to 10 apprentices per year
Eligibility: applicants must be in their final year of full-time post-secondary studies in film, television, communications, or related studies when they apply; must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants
Other initiatives: promotion, recognition, celebration of Canadian film and television through the Genie Awards, Prix Gémeaux and Gemini Awards; professional development programs.

Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology
